24 : a Collage of Cinema

This is a project that has been in the works for a few years, it has gone through many transformations and arrangements. In an early draft of this film I superimposed 4 images into one frame, using a handful of random films I had laying around. Then I liked how 5 frames looked and then I tried 6. Then after several more months of tinkering around with this Idea I decided to try a widescreen version, this time using 24 frames inside of one 16/9 frame. In each one of the frames there is a complete film that runs from start to finish. I mostly used films of the horror and sci-fi genre. The sound for each of the films has been left intact, so this also becomes a sound collage. I find it interesting that the images at points during the film look as if they are interacted with one another.

As each one of the films end they drop out of the picture and the screen begins to depopulate coming to an end. This film can be viewed as an installation or as a feature length program. I plan to release this spring 2014
